Application Support Engineer (based in Hong Kong covering APAC)
Our client is a global IT vendor, which provides efficient and effective integration and management of corporate data in different platforms and environment. Due to rapid growth, they are seeking for a service-hearted engineer to provide customers/partners with application and product support in the APAC region.
Responsibilities
• Deliver first and second level support to customers/partners via phone and email
• Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve technical problems for their company products
• Get familiar with the customers’ production environment, business and product implementation
• Communicate with the key personnel at the customer site
• Collaborate with R&D team by translating the customer problem into appropriate technical terms
• Update all record of the responsible accounts in the system
• Ensure information transfer by writing tech articles or having weekly meetings discussions
• Maintain coherent and efficient working procedures to reflect a professional attitude and save time
• Verify and utilize all available resources before escalating a case
Requirements
• Degree holder in Information Systems or related disciplines
• At least 5 years of customer support experience in an application or product support role
• Knowledge and Hands-on experience in Various Platforms and Various Database is a MUST
• In depth knowledge of one or many of the followings:
Databases replication tools (e.g. Shareplex, Oracle Golden Gate)
Data Warehouse project
Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, MySQL
Operating system (windows, Linux)
Mainframe: IBM Z series, iSeries, HP Nonstop, VSAM, IMS
Big Data: Hadoop, Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR
Kafka, MongoDB
Data Warehousing: Teradata, Redshift, Pivotal, SybaseIQ
Cloud: AWS, Google Cloud, Azure
SAP
• Outstanding problem solving ability with good time management
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent Communications skills in verbal and written English is a Must; ability in verbal Cantonese and Mandarin are highly preferable
